Book Character Day

 Yesterday the 29th of September, Makaraka School had a book character day. The teachers and the students dressed up as their favourite book character. Malia and Eilidh organised this book character day because they wanted to fundraise for the Salvation Army and the Year 5/6 camp. The whole school paraded around the turf and then the prize giving happened. The junior girls were Thing 1 and Thing 2, and the junior boy was Where's Wally? The senior boys was Max the Motobike rider. The winner of the senior girls were a horse and owner, and rider. The overall winner was a World War 2 soldier. Everyone in the school was so happy

Ollie's Acrostic Poem

This is my acrostic poem about Maia Poroaki. My mum and I watched the story that Miss Moat read. We wrote down parts of the story and then we typed it into my chrome book. I hope you like it. 

Ollie's Structured Literacy sounds. Lock down week 2

This week I am learning about consonant and vowel sounds. Here is my slide to show my learning 

Today l made a ginormous paper airplane with Layla. We used 9 pieces of paper and used sellotape to put it together. We used Mum's phone to make slow motion videos of us throwing the plane. 

We took the plan onto the tramp and it started to rain and the plane got wet and all soggy. 

We had lots of fun playing with the orange and red plane. 

Next time I would like to try a different design and make the plan stronger.
